Bad Wolf

Crack crack, split lightning from the sidewalk splinters
Bullet-proof artifacts of too many blood winters
Children of shadows and children of the skull
Flip coins the size of elephants
Then scatter off like gulls

You wear raven-red discrimination
Like counter-clockwise reflex
I shoot blanks with a stare
And hope nobody detects
That, y'know I'm...
Whatever, it's gilded now

Happily ever after is the most pathetic ending a story can have
It means there will be no more character development
Except for this
In fairy-tales, all plateaus slope downhill
What lovely teeth you have
