To Catch a Mouse

The hawk rocks nervously back and forth
Spreading shaky wings
To gauge the wind
On a power line
Downtown

The gates swing wide then shut
And her eyes, this city girl
Watch in horror
As he slides
Death's descent
To catch a mouse

Verisimilitude.
